5-Stars for Breaking Point by John Duprey.
This is a heartfelt story and speaks to the author's journey with depression. The first half of the book is difficult to read as you feel the characters falling into despair and hopelessness. It is NOT a good book to read if you are currently depressed or coping with issues of self-harm as it can be a trigger and a downer during the first half of the book.
The author walks the reader through the characters journey from hopelessness to reengaging with life.
There are typos and grammatical errors that those who delight in finding them. If that bothers you, then don't read the book. If you can look past them, you will experience an intense story.
I recommend this story to readers who are in a good place currently and are interested in young-adult-stories focused on teenagers overcoming challenges.

I'll admit that this wouldn't be the sort of book I'd normally read, but I couldn't put it down! The plot was engaging and the character development was superb. I give this book 3 stars because in my opinion, the only book in the world that deserves 5 stars is The Silmarillion, as it overshadows all other books, and there were some grammatical errors. As you can see, I'm very hard to please, but I have to applaud the author on his creativity.

This book is amazing! I'm not one to sit and read a book all the way through but I could NOT put this book down. It is very grabbing and you can tell the author has put his talents of the mind into it. A must read for anyone who has struggled with personal issues and felt there wasn't any other way or that they were alone in all of their troubles. Seriously worth it!
This is a book I wasn't sure if I would like it. It seemed a little dark by the synopsis and it isn't my usual read. I was taken by surprise of the story. Kyle sucks you into his world and makes you want to keep turning the pages to see what happens next. You want to go into the pages and give him a hug and tell him it will all be okay.
Kyle is such a sweetheart but is also a guy you can tell is struggling with himself. He can come across as selfish at first, but you find out that he isn't, he is just trying to get through each day. It was such a nice story to follow and watch him blossom into someone he becomes proud of.
The friendships that form in the story are ones that people strive to have in their own lives. I loved watching him meet new people and find out how they are going to mean to him later on.
This is a book that deals with suicide and rape. It will be rough on your emotions, but it isn't a book that will leave you wanting to cry at the end. It is a book that ends up giving you hope and a new outlook on life as you get up from your chair.
This is a book that you won't be able to put down. Kyle may want to give up on himself, but he has made sure readers won't let him do that. It is a good read for anyone with personal struggles that could use some help getting through!
